Santa came early this year for mtbtours.ro. It was mid-October when we had the joy and the privilege to organize a tour for a select group of French bikers. A fair deal: I showed them the wonderful trails around Bra\u0219ov, they showed me what one can do with a bike. All in all a cross-country, all-mountain and enduro experience in the very pleasant company of five joyful mountain bikers.<\/p>\n
I saw what Pierre Geo Plantet was able to do during some XC competition during the summer, when he finished second as a guest participant at the Romanian National MTB XC Championship. Fran\u00e7ois Bailly-Maitre was introduced as an “enduro world class specialist”, and so it proved to be :-). Edouard and Fran\u00e7ois were lacking the competitive pedigree, but there was no shortage of biking skills about them. Last but not least, Morvane was the least experienced mountain biker, having only three years of history under her belt, but she was a brave and resilient competitor in the group.<\/p>\n
We started full power form the first day, with 60km, 2000m uphill and 2600m dowhnill on the Post\u0103varu trails in the outskirts of Bra\u0219ov city. Yeah, we cheated a little bit and took the cable car to enjoy one of the most famous mtb single trails in Romania.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n
\u00cen ziua urm\u0103toare am continuat cu deja clasica urcare \u00een \u0219aua Strunga, cu o \u00eenc\u0103lzire pe Muchia Dobrogenilor \u0219i pe Creasta Balaban. Pe urcarea din \u0218imon spre Gu\u021banu, pe c\u0103rarea ce \u0219erpuie\u0219te spre Strunga pe sub abruptul vestic al Bucegilor am v\u0103zut cum se poate urca cu bicicleta prin locuri pe unde nu m\u0103 g\u00e2ndeam c\u0103 e posibil. Ei bine, este. Se poate urca integral pe biciclet\u0103. Repet. Integral.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n
Cobor\u00e2rea din Strunga spre Padina a fost prilej de distrac\u021bie, b\u0103ie\u021bii c\u0103utau linii de-a dreptul, pe c\u0103rarea (accidentat\u0103) nu era suficient de motivant. Proper enduro-freeride time!<\/p>\n
Ziua din platoul Bucegilor a trebuit anulat\u0103, din motive de vreme rece, v\u00e2nd \u0219i ninsoare, dar am compensat cu la fel de celebra cobor\u00e2re din Strunga \u0219i pe c\u0103r\u0103ri din zona Moeciu de Sus \u0219i \u0218imon. Totul stropit cu un pahar de bere \u0219i vin ro\u0219u la final, al\u0103turi de minunatele bucate preg\u0103tite de gazda noastr\u0103 tradi\u021bional\u0103, doamna Minerva.<\/p>\n
Ultima zi a fost dedicat\u0103 unui regal \u00een Piatra Craiului. Din nou 60 de kilometri, urcare prin Pr\u0103stii, cobor\u00e2re pe single trail spre Brusturet, urcare pe Valea Seac\u0103 \u0219i la Curm\u0103tura, plus cobor\u00e2rea prin Z\u0103noaga la Botorog. \u00cencepeam s\u0103 sim\u021bim oboseala \u00een picioare, dar asta nu i-a \u00eempiedicat pe b\u0103ie\u021bi s\u0103 fac\u0103 figuri \u00eentr-o roat\u0103, s\u0103 mearg\u0103 cu spatele, s\u0103 fac\u0103 sprinturi la 50km\/h pe asfaltul spre Castelul Bran.<\/p>\n
Salivam de doi ani la tura asta, de c\u00e2nd am \u00eenceput discu\u021biile cu Pierre. Cum protagoni\u0219tii sunt participan\u021bi \u00een competi\u021bii importante de XC \u0219i enduro, a fost complicat s\u0103 g\u0103sim o perioad\u0103 liber\u0103 \u00een program.
